Enrico Bosi was born in Rome in 1953. As a young adult, he attended the
Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, studying under Toti Scaloja from 1974 to
1976. In the 1970s he also appeared on stage as a mime artist, working with
the Milanese composer Roberto Cacciapaglia in various theatrical
productions in Milan. This direct experience with theatrical life was one
of the factors which helped develop an interest in the arts which goes far
beyond the purely visual, an interest which encompasses theatre, music and
literature, and which helps bring additional inspiration to his paintings.
His artistic output is characterised by two main qualities: the surreal
and the ironic, the latter being a feature of, above all, his ink drawings.
This webpage is a personal selection of some of his works, and represents
the result of a quest which began many years ago. The stages of the quest
are many, and together they form what we call 'experience'. |
